Laboratory Testing
Laboratory facilities are available to provide full analysis and specification verification for both paper sacks and polythene products. Comprehensive tests are conducted to applicable ISO and British Standard test methods.
The following testing equipment is available:
- Bench top micrometers accurate to 0.1 of a micron for verification of film thickness.
- Opacity meters for measuring opaqueness or hiding power of film.
- Tensile tester for measuring film and paper strength and elongation.
- Jog tester for measuring the performance of carrier bags in a simulated carrying motion.
- Bar code scanner and reader for verifying bar codes on materials, packaging and cartons.
- Elmendorf tear tester for measuring tear resistance of paper and film.
- Dart impact and puncture testers for measuring the impact resistance of film and burst resistance of paper.
- Colour verification is achieved by use of light boxes and pantone colour spectrometers.
- Ink rub resistance and ink removal testing.
- Friction co-efficient testing to examine slip resistance of paper and film surfaces.
- Film surface tension testing to establish film treatment levels.
- Absolute lift and drop testing to establish ultimate strength of packaging.
